Wilderness Destinations Ltd, a leader in activity-based tourism, is seeking passionate and adventurous individuals to join our team as an Activity Guide Trainee. This is a unique, one-year training program designed for aspiring guides who want to build a long-term career leading guests through authentic outdoor experiences.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in a structured 12-month training program to develop guiding skills.
  • Assist experienced guides in leading activities such as mountain biking, canoeing, nature walks, and cultural tours.
  • Engage with guests, providing them with safe, unforgettable, and educational experiences.
  • Continuously learn and expand your knowledge of Tanzania’s nature and culture.

Candidate Profile

We are looking for a curious, friendly, and reliable team player who is passionate about outdoor activities and has a desire to learn. The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and attributes:

  • A valid C-Class Driver’s License with solid driving experience.
  • Diploma in Wildlife, Tourism, or a related field, with relevant field experience.
  • Excellent English skills, with high proficiency in another guest language (especially German or Italian) being a significant advantage.
  • Strong storytelling and communication skills, with a passion for helping guests.
  • Honest, trustworthy, and able to remain calm under pressure.
  • A true passion for outdoor sports and adventure.

Important Note

This is a trainee position specifically for our Activity Guiding Unit and is not a direct pathway to becoming a Safari Guide with our company.
